How to watch the NFR live in 2026

The 2026 Wrangler National Finals Rodeo runs for 10 straight nights, from Thursday, December 3 to Saturday, December 12, at the Thomas & Mack Center in Las Vegas. Each performance starts at 5:45 p.m. PT, which is 8:45 p.m. ET.

There are two official ways to watch NFR live from home:

  • Stream it on Cowboy+. The official NFR site calls Cowboy+ the exclusive streaming home of the event. Its annual plan includes all 10 nights live, plus on-demand replays. Read our NFR live stream guide for plans, devices and setup.
  • Watch it on the Cowboy Channel. The performances also air live on TV for subscribers whose cable or satellite provider carries the network. Our guide to what channel the NFR is on lists what we could confirm by provider.

Searching for a free stream? Read our honest answer on watching the NFR for free first. Fake "free live stream" listings flood the search results every December, and they aren't worth the risk to your card details.

If you are outside the US, see the guides for Canada, Australia, Brazil and the United Kingdom. Each one has the local start time and the qualifiers worth following from that country.

What is the NFR?

The National Finals Rodeo is the season-ending championship of professional rodeo, and fans often call it the Super Bowl of the sport. Only the top 15 money earners in each event qualify after a season that closes on September 30. For 2026, that means 119 contestants, because Stetson Wright qualified in two events.

Over 10 rounds, those contestants compete in bareback riding, steer wrestling, team roping, saddle bronc riding, tie-down roping, barrel racing and bull riding. Money won in Las Vegas is added to season earnings, and the contestant with the most money in each event at the end of Round 10 becomes the world champion.

Why the 2026 NFR is worth watching

All four Wright brothers are in the same field. Rusty, Ryder, Stetson and Statler Wright have each been to the NFR, but this is the first year all four have qualified together. Rusty leads the saddle bronc riding, and Statler returns as the reigning world champion after securing his spot on the last weekend of the season. Read more in our story on the four Wright brothers.

The money is spread further. Go-rounds now pay eight places instead of six, and reports put the total prize money at a record of more than $14.2 million. We explain the change in our payouts story.

Stetson Wright is chasing history again. The 10-time world champion is entered in saddle bronc riding and bull riding and has a shot at the rodeo triple crown: all-around, saddle bronc and bull riding gold buckles in the same year.

Who watches the NFR?

Rodeo's heartland is the United States, especially Texas, Oklahoma, Montana, Wyoming, Utah, Idaho, South Dakota and the rest of the rodeo West. Canada has a strong following too, led by Alberta, and the NFR holds a Canadian Night each year. Fans in Australia and Brazil have their own reasons to tune in: Queensland's Damian Brennan and Brazil's Junior Nogueira are both in the 2026 field.
